A great accessory for LinkedIn is the Q&A tab. Because you're connected with others in your same profession, who better to answer your questions? Using the Q&A option on LinkedIn is like having a help desk at your fingers. By asking specific questions, you are opened up to a community of professionals for your inquiry.
To ask, or answer questions, go to the Answers page. You have 5 different scenarios for Q&A:
- Your Answers home page
- This is where you can ask questions and answer questions with little effort.
- Advanced Answers Search
- This will help you find answers to your question, if an answer has already been posted.
- My Q&A
- This page shows you all the questions you've asked, and all the answers you've provided.
- Ask a Question
- This is the simple page for asking a question.
- Answer a Question
- This opens a page with questions from other users that have something to do with your field of work, allowing you to give the best advice from your personal, experiential opinion.
The more questions you answer, the more expertise points you get. But, LinkedIn will only choose the most suitable answers, so try to only answer questions that you have expert knowledge on.
