Sounders FC face the Fire in Chicago on Saturday

Back on track following a league win last Saturday and a U.S. Open Cup play-in victory on Tuesday, the Seattle Sounders FC (4-2-0) plays its third game in seven days, as Major League Soccer play resumes Saturday night when Sounders FC visits the unbeaten Chicago Fire (2-0-4). The game begins at 5:30 p.m. PT at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill. It is the first of three road matches in the next four outings.The pre-match show begins at 5:00 PM on KONG 6/16 TV in Seattle.

"Their undoubted star is Mexican legend Cuauhtemoc Blanco, their Designated Player. The 36-year-old has represented Mexico at two World Cups (1998, 2002), scoring in each tournament. He won a pair of CONCACAF Gold Cup titles (1996, 1998). He led Mexico past Brazil for the 1999 Confederations Cup title, setting a tournament record with nine goals. Blanco is well-known for his unique Cuauhtémiña or “Blanco Bounce” move, in which he jumps with the ball held between his feet to escape defenders."

High-flying Sounders, Fire get together.

The Sounders FC are second in the Western Conference after blanking the San Jose Earthquakes, 2-0, snapping a two-game losing string. Chicago has yet to lose a match and is second in the Eastern Conference with 10 points, but with draws in its last three matches, is seeking its first win since April 5, at home against New York.

The four victories and 12 points for Sounders FC are the second-highest totals in MLS this season, behind only MLS West leader Chivas USA (5-1-1).
