New or Renew? Sounders FC season tickets for 2010 will likely sell out again

I got a call from Seattle Sounders FC ticket rep Gary Boyle the other day in regards to 2010 season tickets. I made a list of the information he gave me. The most important thing Gary wanted to get across to fans is that the club is already taking deposits ($50 per seat) for both new and added-on season tickets for 2010. They are dating them for priority so the first deposits have a better shot. If you want to keep the same place and number of season tickets you have this year, you don't have to do anything yet. The club will begin an official renewal contact campaign in September.

1. Sounders will begin add-on for people who HAVE season tickets and want more after Labor Day (September).

2. There IS a waiting list for add-on, and you need to put a $50 deposit down for those extra, new seats you want to add to your current tickets / account.

3. If you don't have full season tickets right now but want to get them in 2010, you ALSO NEED TO CONTACT THE CLUB NOW and put down $50 per seat deposits. The deposits are dated for priority. The longer you wait, the less likely you are to even get season tickets.

4. The Sounders are expecting a 90% renewal rate at the very least. Right now there are 2,000 people on the 'waiting list' for 2010 season tickets that DON'T have season tickets this year.

5. Current season ticket holders will get first crack at renewing & adding more seats, then the new depositors will be next.

6. So, if 90% of season ticket holders renew, and 2,000 people are waiting for multiple season ticket seats in 2010...then Qwest Field will basically sell out as soon as all orders are processed.

7. The Sounders will likely be reducing the group sales ticket availability, and keeping the 32,000 configuration. Instead of capping season tickets at 26,000 they will likely cap them somewhere higher for 2010.

8. Season Ticket Holders from 2009 are 'locked in' at the 2009 price for both 2010 an 2011 if they choose to renew.

Questions? Contact Gary Boyle at garyb@soundersfc.com, another Sounders ticket rep, or go to the club website page for season ticket information.
