The Kitsap Pumas professional soccer club of Bremerton, Washington, USA, are holding invitational player tryouts this weekend at Silverdale Stadium. The first session took place on a rainy Friday night as more than fifty players tried to catch notice of head coach Peter Fewing and his assistants. Among the group were players from Scotland, France, Brazil, the continent of Africa. America, and Canada, among others.
I spoke with trialists David Gray and Allan Creer, here from Scotland to have a go. See the short video interview below. Gray caught our attention earlier this week when he was featured in a paper back home. A good portion of the Pumas roster also mixed in with the trialists. Among those was winger Mark Conrad, who was recently interviewed here.

Other invitees onhand included Diarra Aboubikari, Tyler Camp, Jason Cascio, Cody Clark, John Fishbaugher, Ben Funkhouser, Brandon Gwin, Tabbackh Hamza, Carlo Horcos, Brayton Knapp, Igor Lima, Ross McMonies, David Meherg, Cam Mertens, Chase Mikkelsen, Greg Miley, David Miller, Jose Herara, Elliot Fauske, Carlos Portillo, Steven Provost, Amrane Rezki, Djiby Sow, John Troka, Todd Wallenius, Mark Walton, Zane Wells, Pete Van Sant and Rodrigo Luiz Sella, among others.
We'll have to wait a while to see if the tryouts have any impact on the 2010 Pumas roster. The club will continue making announcements of player signings leading up to the opening league match May 1 at Yakima Reds.

I stopped by last night, too. Nice to see so many local Pumas fans come out. We joked that our tryouts draw more fans than some teams' regular season home matches! :)
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!
A real football club is rising...in WEST SOUND!
Those are my girls on picture 5 of the slideshow! Thanks Dave!!
watched the damn united the other way. It's now in redbox. very good movie, for fans and nonfans. Shows how a team in a small market climbs up the ranks to first place in division one. Go Pumas!!!
Have they signed the Funkhouser kid. I saw him play when they played the UW and he is magic with the ball.
I hope they continue with Fernando Gonzalez, he's is quick and accurate in his decisions, plus he can shoot, one helluva player.
Got something to say?
