Colleges kicking the ball around again

College soccer is nearing kickoff of the 2010 season and I've collected a few links below to recent stories about schools in the state of Washington.

The Husky Women are practicing for the new campaign. See the video clip with head coach Lesle Gallimore above.

The Husky Men just finished a soccer camp for around 120 players. Brandon Prideaux will be taking part in his first pre-season as a Soccerdawgs coach.

Husky soccer tickets are on sale now.

The Seattle University Redhawks Women are looking forward to seeing what freshman Monique Escalera can bring to the program.

The Redhawks Men will have to wait until 2011 to get the services of recently committed Tanner Gleason.

The Seattle Pacific University Falcons Men are embracing the soccer tradition of supporters groups. The "Falcon Faithful" are being promoted by the school.

The Faclon Women are following the professional progress of former player Meredith Teague.

The Washington State Cougars (Women's program only) are ranked 21st going into the new season by the Coaches Association.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs Women are underway and preparing for an August 20th debut against Utah.

The Zags Men will be welcoming four freshmen who garnered All-State honors.

The Northwest University Eagles Women are coached by Seattle Sounders Women player Erin Redwine. Here is her latested recruiting class.

The Eagles Men, coached by Gary McIntosh, have listed their new class, too.

The Pacific Lutheran Lutes Women are getting nostalgic for very good reason. Their national NAIA Championship runs of winning it all in 1988, 1989 and 1991 are being honored in the school Sports Hall of Fame.

The Lutes Men will be watching to see if SI intern Alex Schisel puts his Barcelona experience to good use in covering them this season.

No pressure, but the Puget Sound Loggers Women have been projected to win their ninths straight Northwest Conference title.

The Loggers Men are following the career of former player Taylor Hyde, who most-recently has been with the Kitsap Pumas.

The Western Washington Vikings Women are intently watching to see how their new class will come along this fall.

The Viking Men have recruited a class of players all from within the state of Washington.

The Saints Women are part of a soccer program that has gone from zero to sixty over the last few years. Two new recruits hope to help SMU to improve on last year's winning season.

The defending GNAC Champions Saints Men will have new faces helping to earn a repeat this fall.

The Evergreen State Geoducks Women will have a new head coach this year, Adam Fenster.

The Geoduck Men recently completed a series of successful summer camps.

The Whitman Missionaries Women have a new head coach this year, Heather Cato.

The Missionaries Men are currently in England on a pre-season tour! So far their results have been promising. The school has also been following the progress of two current Kitsap Pumas.

The Whitworth University Pirates Women are hoping to continue the momentum of one of their best seasons ever.

The Pirates Men have a video archive page here and will begin their 2010 season on September 5 against Augsburg. Check out the Pirates YouTube channel.
