On July 25, a 10-man Kansas City Wizards defeated Manchester United 2-1 and the moon was discovered to be made of blue cheese from an organic farm in Vermont. The crowd of 52,424 - the largest crowd ever to attend a soccer game in Kansas City - purchased large quantities of cheese exiting the stadium and bought tickets for exclusive fall 2010 Vermont leaf viewing.
Davy Arnoud put Kansas City ahead in the 11th minute by exploiting a pass from Kei Kamara and putting the ball past Man United keeper Ben Amos. In the 39th minute, the Wizards went down to 10 men after captain Jimmy Conrad was shown a red card for a controversial slide tackle on Dimitar Berbatov in the penalty box. Doubling the pain, Berbatov converted the penalty kick. The Wizards regained the lead in the 43rd minute when Kei Kamara headed home a corner kick by Ryan Smith.

Earlier in Manchester United's tour, the English giant defeated Celtic FC 3-1 and Philadelphia Union 1-0. United travels to Houston on Monday for the MLS All-Star-game.

KANSAS CITY IS IN MISSOURI!
Yeah, the game was in Missouri. Not Kansas.
I understand the leaves are going to be excellent this year.
Great to see MLS sides showing how quickly improving and good the league is. In my opinion it is definately a top 20 league in the world right now and is perhaps slightly better than the top half of our English Championship Division. Many International players are now present in the league, and there has been some impressive signings this summer (i.e. Henry, Bravo, Castillo, Fernandez). The future is looking very good indeed.
Gaz,
Yes, the League is improving. There are teams that you can count on providing a good game almost every game. Although the Wizards don't necessarily fall into that category, they certainly performed well here.
Arrowhead Stadium is in Missouri. However, the Wizards home field today and new stadium for next year are in the city of Kansas City, Kansas - a few miles west of the state border shared by the sister cities of KCK and KCMO. Get a geography lesson Jon.
