The buzz surrounding Crystal Chappell's new web series Venice has elevated the creative efforts of those crafty video types who have been visually applauding her decision to take Otalia via the Venice vehicle where Guiding Light should have taken them long ago. The anticipation Otalia fans have felt for the launch of Venice coupled with the disdain they feel for CBS has spawned amazing responses from fans that know how to assemble those video clips we all love to watch. They are not lacking in terms of an audience for their efforts.
Alli, the creator of this particular video says she wanted to spark all the different reactions that could have come from the love story portrayed by Guiding Light's Otalia (Crystal Chappell and Jessica Leccia). Here is how she described her effort in a recent e-mail.
The meaning behind the video can be interpreted in several ways. And the comments for this video reflect the different perspectives I was intending for. I hope you enjoy it (especially the lyrics of the selected song)."
The song has always been a favorite of mine and well the lyrics just fit. Thanks Alli for passing this along as I am sure my readers will enjoy it for a multitude of reasons. It's too bad the eyeball network lost sight of the prize they had in team Otalia but thanks to the generosity and passion of Crystal Chappell, we will all get over it.

Mary, You have been there since the beginning and for that I believe you deserve ( as Alli herself has said) to be an honorary Purple Avenger! Alli has a very clear view on all things Otalia. She is incredible talented and helped me (as someone who suffered the Otalia-Intimacy-Lack immensely) through the hard times.

Mary, I hope your readers enjoy this video. It is one of many videos that you can find on YouTube that express disappointment with CBS and TPTB. For example, you have ChapelOfLove123's Otalia: Guiding Light circa 1910, samkarfran's Purple Patch Confession #11 - RIP, and Kammerzofe1's Otalia - Trick me videos... just to name a few!
There are a lot of beliefs and miracles we HAD in TPTB at GL & CBS. And I'm still at a disbelief we have yet had a real kiss between Otalia. And on the other side of the coin, there are viewers who are still holding on to a miracle that Otalia will have a happy ending, even with the tainted and unnecessary pregnancy storyline.
And at the same time, I can't wait to see what Venice has in store for us. The love and passion that CC, Kimmy, Hope, and cast have illustrated so far have caused my beliefs and miracles to be 'on a high' .... all over again!!

What a fun video! Thanks Mary for featuring it, I might not have found it otherwise. I can tell I'm gonna have to see more of Alli's work.
I've shown my affection for my Purple Avenger Family now I'll comment about GL & this won't be sweet. The reason the PA came to be is because we all fell in love with a great love story. We bonded as devoted fans & supported the show. We watched Olivia and Natalia and cheered as their friendship and love started to grow. Then the direction of the story started going down when Nat said "I love you" in the Gazebo (btw, a "star" of the show)! We waited and waited and waited patiently for the writers to put them together as a couple and face the challenges that they had to. Instead, we're still waiting and waiting some more to see them together as a true couple! I guess we'll just have to wait until the very end! What started as a great love story has turned in to a bad joke! All we can do is laugh now or find the "Powers that Be" to choke! LMAO
I won't even go into the STUPIDITY of Natalia's PREGNANCY! THAT WAS THE END FOR ME!
We don't want to wait anymore. The time for Venice is

At this point, with internet rumors rampant, we don't what we can expect with either story line or project. But what we DO know, is that a wonderful community of women has come together as a result of Otalia. In the end, that is the sustaining, true gift.

She has a way with her work whereby she laces each scene of her videos with a smart message. Alli always picks great songs and her timing is impeccable - almost as if the lyrics were custom written for her!
