'The Young and the Restless' - Mrs. C's medical dilemma - give me a break

Call me ridiculous but I could not even wait for the court scene where Michael Baldwin-the busiest attorney in Genoa City - who seems to represent just family members these days play out his much anticipated courtroom scene. His goal was  to get Jana off but after viewing what happened to Katherine Chancellor today, I haven't yet witnessed the Michael rescues Jana or not courtroom drama.  I was compelled to pause the DVR after being so totally outraged over the scene that took place at the Chancellor estate.

Katherine and Jill were arguing over Nina and Jill went on as usual about how every bad thing that happens in her life links back to Katherine's cruel actions.  Suddenly, Katherine appears to be holding her left arm as the two continue to argue and her speech becomes almost unrecognizable.  Jill with her "I love Cane" agenda these days is initially oblivious and then accuses Katherine of faking whatever is ailing her before the woman comes dangerously close to passing out.

If Neil Winters didn't enter, I suspect Jill would have let Katherine go down for the count.  I know it's difficult having an Ex-Mother but have some sense when someone is in the middle of an emergency.

There's more to this story.  Mac is lounging around the pool in her nightgown when Billy shows up to tell her he's giving up.  Inside the estate, Neil is shocked when he witnesses Katherine's condition.  Jill continues to shout and assures Neil that Katherine is faking it.  Neil knows otherwise.

Here is the real deal here.  If Neil genuinely recognized the fact that Mrs. "C" was in trouble, he should have called 911 immediately.  What is wrong with these people?

Murphy happens upon the scene and summons the nightgown clad Mac to come inside to see what's wrong with Katherine. Mac just happens to have a blood pressure cuff in her backpack (she should lose the backpack) and everyone sits around to wait for Mac to deliver the news that Katherine's blood pressure is dangerously high and she should get to a hospital. Ya think Mac?

Still, they don't dial up 911. Instead these idiots wait for Murphy to bring the car around. How much pressure was put upon that dear man today?   Fortunately, Katherine was still breathing when this inept crew got her to the hospital but Dr. Winters is of course the super physician asking her to describe her symptoms.  Katherine should be relieved that Olivia wasn't delivering a baby or performing open heart surgery or something.

Give me a break Genoa City.

I couldn't agree more! I was thinking the same things. I know the show isn't supposed to be realistic but sometimes they're way off base. The whole Phyllis getting arrested will, I'm sure be more of the same. If I'm not mistaken if you think someone has tried to harm their child, you call social services and launch an investigation at which point if there is EVIDENCE, the person gets arrested. That story line is going to be just as lame as this one...

Hi Chaosrainz - thanks for the comments. The situation with Phyllis will surely be an interesting one to watch. Sigh. Sometimes the craziness can get to you.
