The Young and the Restless is ripe with evil goddess plots these days and while from where I sit gazing through my crystal ball in order to catch up on the action taking place in that tormented city on a daily basis, I have mixed emotions. While adore the darkness, I also genuinely relate to the sweet viewers who just don't get it. The soap goddess simply understands both sides of a story.
Lauren and Jana look much better in that cage condo than I do inside my sparkling crystal ball despite the fact they are being showcased in dark lighting these days.
These two women desperate to escape their captors get this brilliant idea to start a fire to attract the attention of the Genoa City's first responders but it quite didn't go as planned.
Ryder shows up and freaks when he sees the fire and he vents to Lauren and Jana about pulling this stunt on his watch. The fire is quickly extinguished but not before Daisy sees the smoke. The only trouble is, so did a cop who happened to be driving by the cage condo. Daisy tells the cop that the fire is out and that Ryder is a homeless person who had been living in the cage condo estates. She claims he started the fire to heat up a can of soup. Give me a break dear mortal serialized drama writers. You really think your devoted viewers are going to believe the alleged vagrant left that remote area, stole a can of soup and lit a fire to heat it up? Daisy then feeds this clueless Genoa City cop a story that beats them all. She explains her presence in the area by stating she runs a homeless shelter. Sigh! The cop places Ryder under arrest and Daisy never protests. She simply tells him he better get out of there with his prisoner fast and states its typical for Ryder to escape. The brilliant cop takes the dizzy Daisy's advice and never investigates where the fire started.
In the meantime, Sara chats with Patty about her plan to have Patty off Michael in return for her willingness to murder Phyllis. Patty does not believe she can slide into her killer stilettos to kill Michael. Sarah believes Patty is so jealous of Jack's relationship with Phyllis that she can do it. These two airheads become distracted when Jack arrives with Emily's brother Jamie. Their shrink session ends and while alone with Emily and Jamie, Jack really begins to wonder.
Jamie initially told Jack he and his sister never had a good relationship. Emily stuns Jack when she acts totally excited to see her brother. She chats about how proud she is of her brother because of his great job success. Jamie wonders what her act is because she knows he has never been able to hold a job.
Suddenly, Emily mutters "she lied to me." This raises Jack's eyebrows, but I have to tell you, those brilliant brows of his should have floated off his face months ago. Give us a break Y&R. Later, Jamie tells Emily when they are alone she hasn't spoken to him since he stole her prescription pad all those years ago. Emily promptly gives her brother another prescription pad and a wad of cash then orders him never to contact her again. You think Jack will finally get it?
Elsewhere, Victor Newman tells the DA and Chance that he murdered Adam, planted Jack's handkerchief in his mouth and broke the gas pipe. Please the man didn't look as though he was hanging out in the basement of the GCAC the night the explosion occurred. Chance and Pomerantz believe Victor just handed them a false confession, but they place him under arrest nonetheless but keep Nick in lockup as well.
This show seems to love family members hanging out behind bars together, don't you think? Just wanted to let Y&R fans know, the soap goddess understands your pain. The writers seriously need to get a grip and for now, I will just try to understand that one point.
