Friday's episode of The Bold and the Beautiful included over the top acting while managing to trigger just about every emotion possible. The venerable actress Betty White is back in L.A. portraying Ann Douglas, Stephanie and Pam's mother. Ann is suffering from stage 4 pancreatic cancer and it's obvious she doesn't have much time left. She tells Pam and Stephanie (who were surprised to see her) that she is sick of doctors, hospitals and needles. She makes them promise not to let her die in a hospital bed and then suggest her girls get her some medical marijuana because she took all the pain meds she had before leaving Chicago.
Her daughters are shocked by the state of her health but promise to honor her wishes by not subjecting her to anther hospital stay. Stephanie calls Taylor for help with her mother's pain management but personally, I would have killed to see Betty White toking on a joint or two.
Stephanie goes to the drug store with Taylor to get some pain meds for Ann while Pam is looking out for her. Pam becomes desperate when her mother begins to experience agonizing pain in the chest area and she immediately attempts to call Stephanie who chooses not to answer her phone. Pam is in panic mode and she dials '911' for help. The paramedics insist on transporting Ann to the hospital and Pam stays behind waiting for Stephanie and Taylor to return. Pamela's reaction to the split second decision she made is incredible while Stephanie's is typical.
