General Hospital has been on fire lately and while James Franco has certainly made a splash playing a mysterious character suddenly showing up in Port Charles, he is not solely responsible for compelling viewers to stay tuned.
Franco brought a splash of mystery to Port Charles. Think about it, who would step on Joey Limbo's neck to make sure the execution style mobster bullets flying out of all those weapons owned by members of the Corintho's organization really killed Limbo. To make things even more intriguing, he made sure he was seen. His cryptic wave and smile directed at Jason as Sonny's getaway limo fled the scene certainly cast some suspicion on Franco. This extraordinary artist certainly has a story to tell. You think he has some sort of connection to Jason?
Maxie's indiscretion with Franco has consumed her with guilt. Rachel Josue over at MTV Movies Blog has this to say about "Fraxie"
Maxie and James Franco do a flirty dance of words in his studio, where he tells lie after lie and suddenly she grows a brain and believes none of it. Maxie kind of "gets" Franco's creepy facade, and is even turned on by it. There's more kinky blindfold action, and then there's action of a different sort. You know, the kind that will cause Spinelli's heart to break into a million shards like the glass Maxie dramatically throws to the floor."
You've got to feel bad for Maxie in one sense. She cares about both Spinelli and her career and she doesn't want to ruin either one, but sometimes her choices make you wonder. She was lured in and mesmerized by Franco's charming ways and well, when Spinelli shows up with that turkey soup (16 ounces to be exact) to make her feel better, the guilt kicks in big time.
While the violence continues to dominate much of the focus in Port Charles, Diane Miller is back in town. Sonny, the mobster with a heart wants Max back with Diane because the body guard has been sulking lately. He orders Spinelli and Milo to make this happen and somehow they pulled it off with a bogus cover story. They made Diane believes that Max is suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED) and while she is crushed that her elastic lover (could Max be Gumbi or something?) has been stricken with the heartbreak of ED, she tells Spin and Milo it's not all about the sex despite the fact that the news is catastrophic for her. She needs to cure him immediately. Max telling Diane there was never anything wrong with his equipment was priceless. It's a great thing to witness the comic interaction of these two characters cropping up as the bullets fly in Port Charles. They are simply a breath of fresh air and one can only believe for sure after Wednesday's episode that there is nothing wrong with the weapon Max is carrying.
