Stephen "Twitch" Boss' dancing talents have been tapped by Rainforest Films for its upcoming sequel Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming, according to the Hollywood Reporter. He became America's Second Favorite Dancer as runner-up to Joshua Allen in season 4 of So You Think You Can Dance.
Boss, who generally took the role of spunky, upbeat characters on the show, will have to pull a 180 as he plays Taz, the film's antagonist. Filming for the movie begins next week in Atlanta. The original Stomp the Yard was released in 2007 and b-boy Legacy, a season 6 finalist, played a role. It grossed $74 million worldwide. Boss has also been in Hairspray and Blades of Glory.
Twitch first appeared on SYTYCD in season 3 as the last guy to get cut when the top 20 were announced. The decision was rendered by the judges while he was standing next to his friend and fellow contestant Hok Konishi, who was chosen instead of him (a similar scene played out between brothers Ryan and Evan Kasprzak in season 5). Fortunately, Boss tried out again the following season and become a fast fan favorite, dancing memorable routines with third-place finisher Katee Shean and Kherington Payne, who went on to star in 2009's Fame.
