Jenny Slate keeps her job on SNL despite her friggin' mistake

Jenny Slate

On Tuesday, NBC spokesperson, Sharon Pannozzo, told the New York Daily News that Jenny Slate will not lose her job, despite her accidental utterance of the F-word on the premiere episode of this season’s Saturday Night Live.

In her first skit on the show, Slate played a biker chick whose vocabulary revolved around the word friggin’. With one slip of the tongue, Slate mistakenly drops the f-bomb.

The mistake was broadcast live to several time zones, but on the West Coast, the error was replaced with the word “freaking.” It was evident Slate immediately knew she messed up right after the word exited her mouth, as she puffed her cheeks in frustration and embarrassment.

Some speculated Slate may face the axe, as did cast member Charles Rocket in 1981 when he uttered the same word at the end of the show. But, unlike Slate’s unintentional act, SNL producer Lorne Michaels said Rocket’s was perceived to be a purposeful act. Rocket was scheduled to leave the show and was disgruntled.

The Washington Post reports that Michaels feels Slate’s pain and said, “It has to be an actor’s worst nightmare. Your first time on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and this happens. You could sense the mortification in the studio.”

Additionally, AHN reports that because the error took place after prime time, SNL will face no fines from the Federal Communications Commission.

Of course they didn't. NBC has no morals or ethics, and SNL is disgusting anyway. Everyone should boycott that network.

Calm down crazy. It's a word. Words don't hurt you. It was accidental and broadcast late at night. Not everyone walks around with a constant stick up their butt. Try releasing. You might be happier.
