Dogs are dating in New York City, a cat is turned blue, rats are going into fashions and “celebrities” mingle among us. No, is not the end of the world but just some of the things happening at the latest pet events in the city.
We start with the first doggie date night hosted in NYC by PetsDating.com that was filled with local well known names of the pet industry. The “Doggie Moms”, Schmitty the Weather Dog, NYC’s Top pet fashion designers Roberto Negrin and Anthony Rubio, Andy Troy and many more attended to support this fun event that benefited the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals. The fun idea after PetsDating.com is that dogs are the ones looking for friends to meet and mingle. Owners are simply there to supervise tails are always wagging plus they get to connect online to share knowledge or experiences.
Then, for 2 days The NYC Pet Show brings vendors with fantastic pet products, have seminars and allow people to attend with their pets to experience a show like no other.
This year walking on the isle you could meet Martini the cat. He was pampered by Master groomer Olga Zabelinskaya, who was giving tips on general care in addition to offer creative grooming. Martini was colored with blue strikes around his cheeks and legs creating a big stir of fans around him.
Tara de la Hoz is a Rat Fancier who attended the show for the first time with her pet “schnauzer” a blue rat that is a pet model and one of a few that will be seen modeling at the upcoming Rat Fancy Fashion Show happening may 29 at 320 studios, NYC. “Schnauzer” began to mingle while wearing a tuxedo then changed to a harness with a Swarovski leash. He gained comments like been best dressed in show!
Carried in a custom made bag especially design for his kind, “Louie” the snake, was not on open view unless owner, Julio Mercado would bring him out. Been also his first time in the NYC Pet Show, Julio was very impressed with the variety and quality of the products feature.
Of course a parade of celebrities completes this fantastic event. Some of the names walking around the isles include again the popular “Doggie Moms”, Victoria Stilwell, Rescue Ink, Pet Fashion designers, Roberto Negrin and Anthony Rubio, trainer Bill Berloni, Cesar’s way Magazine Publisher Gregg Oehler , NYC Pet Show Charlotte Reed, New York Tails Magazine Diane West, Angels on a Leash David Frei and many more.
If by any unfortunate reason you miss it, do not despair. Below is a slide show of photos to enjoy. Just remember to add as a must to attend next year.
