Governor Bobby Jindal proclaimed this week "Who Dat Nation Week." Read the full story here.
Where did the terms "Who Dat" and "Who Dat Nation" arise? There are a lot of opinions, but this history from Wikipedia seems to fit.
How does this apply to small business marketing? A previous column gave some thoughts, but here are some you can do with your own ingenuity in short order. But you must move quickly. The fan fever will soon subside at least until next season.
- If you have a restaurant, get a wide screen HD TV and have a Special Super Bowl celebration. Offer a package including with a set cost for every patron. Include unlimited soft drinks and snacks, special on alcohol. Set up door prizes and collect names, emails, addresses for the drawings.
- If you have a store front or convenience store, quickly design "Who Dat Nation" yard signs, flags, T-shirts, etc., and sell them.
- If you have a service company, such as lawn care, offer the same thing to your customers free. Why free? This is the time of year you want to cement the "Affinity Bond" with them lest another, perhaps cheaper, competitor steals them away from you.
The opportunities to seize the marketing advantage of this current event are limited only by your own innovation. This is an excellent opportunity to distinguish your business and make a quick profit as well.
Many businesses in the Shreveport/Bossier and ArkLaTex areas can profit greatly with the "Who Dat" fever. Seize this great opportunity now!
