If you've ever been called "four eyes" or seen the pain on a child's face when they find out they need glasses, you know that glasses are a hindrance to elementary school fashion. Our next Phoenix small business profile is showcasing Ficklets, an eyewear charm hugger company that is trying to make the need for glasses a little less painful on a child. Ros Guerrero launched the company in April 2007 with one goal in mind - jazz up and update his daughter's tired, boring eyeglasses.

How did your business get started?
I invented Ficklets initially for my daughter as a way to jazz up and update her tired, old eyeglasses.
Please describe the perfect user of your product or service
Our target audience are moms with kids and end users are kids ages 5 to 11 years old.
What goals have you set for your business that you hope to achieve in the next 5 years? 10 years? 20 years?
My ultimate goal is to build a business that will provide a quality life for my only child, who is mentally handicapped. In terms of my vision for the business, my goal is to broaden and expand the Ficklets brand to include licensed merchandise and develop line products.
How have you promoted your business in the past?
Via a digital marketing campaign which includes, blog reviews/giveaways, online magazine interviews/features and social media.
What is you upcoming product strategy?
Continue to introduce new designs to the collection and improve on packaging design.
What is your marketing strategy?
- Collaborate with distributors on marketing efforts.
- Strengthen PR campaign - digital, print & radio.
- Increase social media presence.
How do you measure success?
Peace of mind that our business will take care of our mentally handicapped daughter long after I'm gone.

I think that ficklets are a great morale booster and add a nice touch to young lives that want to change the look of their glasses when they change their wardrobe. Glasses are too pricey to own several pair however, Ficklets allow the "look" of glasses to change how a person's appearance. Awesome product! Thanks Ficklets.
