Half-way point of the season:
It's the half-way point of the season ... is your season over or it just getting started?
Many baseball fans know that July 4th marks the traditional half-way part of the season with the all-important Major League All-Star Game looming just days away. Many teams are in contention, fighting for a spot to be in the running come September or especially October when the playoffs roll out. They are re-tooling, calling up pitchers and hitters from the minors and even sending some players down or putting them on IR when they just aren't working out for them right now.
It's also the half-way point of 2009 for your business. According to one countdown clock, we are beyond the half-way point with just 180 days left til the ball drops in NYC to announce that 2010 is upon us. So what adjustments are you making to stay strong for the balance of the year? Is it time to give your existing marketing department the boot? Are you avoiding learning about how to use Facebook for your business? Are you thinking that Twitter is just a fad and there's no tangible, practical way to use all those Tweets to help improve your online and overall customer satisfaction? Are you trying to avoid paying the money to get quality videos and photographs for your website and training materials?
There are lots of questions as the Manager of your business that you should be asking at this half-way point of the 2009 season. One final question: Are you going to keep asking these questions, or it is time to make it happen?
Have a great 4th of July weekend,
Donny Vaughn
