Today’s Profile is Dr. Linda Amerson, owner of LA's Hair & Scalp Clinic.
Why did you start your business? Statistically, there are over 80 million Americans affected with Alopecia. With that knowledge I realized that there was an immediate need for women and men suffering from this condition and other scalp maladies. With that I started by business 30 years ago in Corpus Christi, TX because I believe it is a blessing to be a blessing to others.
How is your business different from others in your industry? Over the years LA's Hair & Scalp Clinic have consistently added services and products to grow my business and that is what makes my business different from others in my industry. I offer a microscopic hair strand and hair bulb analysis to get to the root of the problem. In addition, I consider internal and external factors as contributors to Alopecia and scalp maladies.
Where do you see your business in the next 2-5 years? In the next 2-5 years I see my business growing globally into countries such as Africa, South America, the Caribbean Islands, etc. Also, I see my accessories being featured in major specialty stores.
How are you meeting the needs of your clients in today’s economy? I am meeting the needs of my clients in today’s economy by offering an online store on my website; my products are available at various distributor locations; by having my products available at my seminars and by participating in select vendor events.
What does your business offer? My business offers Microscopic consultations, exclusive product line of hair, scalp, skin care products and educational CD & DVD series. We also have a variety of leather accessories. To stay current in our industry and have information for our clients that is up to date we attend Alopecia seminars, vendor events and submit articles to national magazine publications.
Who are your clients? My clients are men, women and children of all races, who are affected with Alopecia and scalp maladies.
What advice do you have for other small business owners? The advice I have for other small business owners is to stay on top of your business, with punctuality, dependability and great customer service.
