Are you looking for ways to finance your business start-up or are you in need of cash and equipment to keep your existing business operating? Unsure of what options are available to you? Still wondering if the banks are really approving loan requests to small business owners?
The Maryland Chamber of Commerce's Business Development Council is presenting a Small Business Lending Fair on February 18, 2010 at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards. The program runs from 8am to 11:30am and is designed specifically to connect small businesses with community and national banks. Attendees are given opportunities to meet with lenders in a speed dating format. The quick meetings are intended to provide introductions for future relationships so that business owners can learn more about capital acquisition and the commercial lending process.
In addition to the national banks slated to attend, such as Bank of America and Wachovia/Wells Fargo, smaller community banks such as Harbor Bank and CFG Community Bank will also be present. Attendees will also have the opportunity to speak with representatives from several government agencies, including the Governor's Office of Minority Affairs and the Maryland Small Business Development Center Network, as well as non-traditional lending representatives from the Grey Financial Group, LLC which provide working capital loans, account receivable factoring, and equipment leasing products.
The Chamber's Business Development Council literature states that "... small and minority-owned businesses are Maryland's economic engine. They are the nation's largest source of private employment and a major source of business innovation. Ensuring the availability of financing to foster small business growth is in the best interest of Maryland's economy." The Council helps small business members grow their businesses through networking and educational events.
Registration for the event is $25 per person and can be completed online here or by contacting Gail Lemke at (410) 269-0642.
