4 Rules for Success
Ms. Lambert was recently interviewed by Maya Payne Smart in the Winter issue of Black MBA magazine the official magazine of the National Black MBA Association ( www.nbmbaa.org ). In an in-depth interview Ms. Lambert showed how the business knowledge she has obtained in school and from hands on experience is invaluable. She offered readers some great tips for business and personal success.

1. Plan but remain flexible: You may have to endure detours, challenges or a new way of thinking to achieve your goals and reach your destination. Understand that is okay.
2. Push yourself out of your comfort zone: Take a little risk. You won’t achieve by staying in the same place and doing the same things. You will need some courage to fuel your success.
3. Lean on your network: You never know when someone you know can help. Relationships can be critical to business and personal success. Be willing to help others as well.
4. Look at the bright side: Difficult circumstances may not seem like opportunities but they can be. Ms. Lambert started her path to success after being fired from a job. A difficult situation can be time for self-analysis.

So take some tips from Ms. Lambert. Times are not ideal but this could be the right time for you to improve or start your business. What is the success story you can start writing in tough times? What is your road to someplace better?
