- Relatives of a Northern Irish soldier from Portadown killed in Afghanistan on Tuesday have spoken of their pride. In a statement the family of Lieutenant Neal Turkington paid tribute to the "courageous" 26-year-old victim, saying: "We are all so proud of him. We couldn't have asked for a finer son, brother and friend. Neal was jovial, kind, considerate and loyal to his family and friends. Our family were inspired by his presence, and generosity.
