- Tatting, example of how to.
- This is a common tatting pattern called Hen and Chicks
- Used to trim dresses, outfits, pillow cases, etc.
- Start by making a loop, with the base of the loop between your forefinger and thumb, the rest wrapping around your other fingers and pinky
- Slip the shuttle under the top thread of the loop.
- Then over and through
- Creating a little loop around your big loop
- Gently pull the shuttle thread until the knot flips.
- Using your middle finger and your shuttle, slide the knot down until it rests between your thumb and forefinger
- Just like that.
- Slide your shuttle the opposite way to make the knot.
- Leave spaces on your shuttle thread and squish down in order to make the picots (little loopy things) and work the pattern. It's less complicated than it looks!
