- Silicone band bracelets can be embedded easily in melt and pour soap, producing a finished product that kids and teens will love.
- Clear soap base is chopped into chunks and covered with plastic wrap before melting it in the microwave.
- Microwaving in 30-second bursts at 50% allows the soap to melt gently and keeps it from overheating.
- A thin (approximately 1/4 inch) layer of soap is poured into the mold.
- The silicone band bracelet is sprayed on both sides with rubbing alcohol before embedding it into the soap. This keeps bubbles from forming around the band when it is placed into the soap.
- The silicone band is placed into the clear soap layer.
- The silicone band can be positioned by moving it with a bamboo or metal skewer. Some larger bar molds may have enough room to embed more than one band.
- Opaque soap base (or in this case, scraps from a previous project) is melted, colored and fragranced.
- The opaque soap is poured gently over the solidified clear soap layer and allowed to harden.
- Flexing the sides of the mold spreads them apart and allows air to enter between the soap and the mold. This makes it possible for the soap to come out of the mold.
- Turning the mold over and pressing gently on the bottom of the cavity will release the soap from the mold.
- This cute little bunny is ready to be wrapped before hopping into an Easter basket!
