These measure about 3" in diameter and can be filled with candy. Any substantial paper or light cardstock can be used. Paper bags recycle well for these and look somewhat realistic.

- I used a 5" bowl to trace this circle on decorative paper I got at the dollar store. I got 40 sheets of paper and cut two circles out of each piece. That makes each fortune cookie cost a little over a penny each.
- Fold paper circle backwards and crease for about 1.5 inches in center as shown. This helps you fold later. Open circle.
- Fold in the opposite direction of the crease you just made. Do not crease. Fold as is and hold and go to the next step.
- Pull corners of circle towards you away from open side of half circle, away from where you are holding in the picture above.
- Insert stapler far into the two halves you just made and staple as far up as possible. You now have a fortune cookie.
- Stuff fortune cookie. This cookie has a piece of candy and a little shredded paper on each side.
- Insert fortune between two halves as shown. Let it dangle out of the sides for effect.
