Wash outside of squash, dry, then place on a cutting board.
- Wash outside of squash, dry, then place on a cutting board.
- Turn squash on its side, and with a sharp knife slice off the top of the squash. This makes it easier to slice it down the middle.
- Slice squash.
- The seeds will need to be removed.
- Scoop seeds.
- Add water so that there is about an inch of water in the pan.
- Place both halves of the squash 'face' down into the water in the pan.
- Once the squash is cooked, use a tong and turn the squash over so it will cool.
- Once cool enough to handle, scoop the softened squash from the skin into a bowl.
- You may eat it as is, or season to taste with butter, salt, cinnamon, and/or maple syrup.
