- Project site for the 30 home build.
- This is the house to be LEED Silver Certified. We are told the proud owner looks foward to showing off her house in the future to many more visitors!

- Mary Lou explains the history of Habitat for Humaity of Broward County as well as the background of how this build came about.
- Participants stand on the front porch of the LEED Silver home listening intently to Mary Lou.
- On the easel is a site map of the entire 30 home build.
- There are five models with either 3 or 4 bedrooms for the future homeowners to choose from.
- This is the beginning of phase two which provides for the next five homes.
- A/C duct lines are run between the exposed ceiling and another ceiling above it. Keeping the ducts in air conditioned space provides for much greater energy efficiency.
- While Habitat for Humanity does not allow for a garage there is included an attached outside storage room that also houses the water heater providing for more interior space.
- With a maximum allowable footprint of 1300 sq. ft., the homes are placed in close proximity to each other following the LEED Neighborhood Development recommendation of compact development.
- This is the future area for the remainder of the 30 homes. There will be a large central open green area for the communities use. The Florida Federated Garden Clubs is planning a Blue Star Memorial Garden in part of this space. This is environmentally and economically wise as well as providing safety for the residents especially for the children.
- Bob Clifford, a site supervisor, who stated that his own mom many years ago participated in the program.
- The architectural shingles used on the roof have a 50 year warranty.
- A typical living room leading into a hallway to the bedrooms, bathroom and laundry area.
- The kitchen like the rest of the house has strong, durable materials as well as energy efficient appliances and water conserving fixtures.
- The site is naturally sloped from the north to the south side of the site creating a retention pond.
