- Stevie's on the Square. You don't buy chain pizza in a college town, and you don't buy chain BBQ on the square in Texas! This is a fun, cheap date for all you married couples who like stuff like that...take a drive southeast on SH 175 to Kaufman, visit the shops on the square, and stop into Stevie's for some good, old-fashioned, country BBQ.

- Kaufman County's old courthouse was razed in the 1950's due to structural deficiencies. Unfortunately, they replaced it with a courthouse with no character. Well, other than the character atop the Civil War Monument!
- The old First National Bank building...now a Tea House!
- Citizens' National Bank Building, now a reception hall.
