- Artist Phil Schuster owns a large area of land with his studio.
- He created a "forgiving" evergreen garden by building up with berms of soil and trees and shrubs.
- Interspersed in the garden are the sculptural pieces that Schuster made himself or with other groups around the city.
- The Fulton Flower and Vegetable Garden is a NeighborSpace garden run by the Taylors.
- The garden has annual and perennial flowers in raised beds, such as these cosmos and black eyed susans.
- The purple veins of these beets pick up the salvia's color behind them in the Taylor's garden.
- Although this garden may look sparse in comparison to the previous two gardens, it is in its infancy. It was planted earlier this spring by volunteers and the Greater Garfield Park Chamber of Commerce.
- The Chamber, headed by Ernestine King, is seeking to revitalize vacant lots in its commercial corridor. She is using donated or "found" materials, such as these bricks used as a path. These gardens are not intended to be permanent.
- The Betty Swan Community Arboretum is a project of the North Lawndale Greening Committee and Openlands.
- The Community Arboretum is made up of 5 vacant lots owned by NeighborSpace, and is intended to be a community education site for the proper maintenance and care of urban trees.
