In today's world of immediate internet access, you must also include those of us who viewed the rally on our computers. After all, Paul Revere traveled the land spreading the alert that the British were coming. The WORD is of primary importance, regardless of where you physically are when you hear it!
I was at the Rally and was packed into one of the two overflow areas. The Metro trains were packed. 87,000? I don't think so. Half a million or more sounds more realistic. It was a magnificent event, largely because of so many who'd come from all over the country.
if you look at the pictures of the mall, there are clearly more than 87,000 people in attendance. Wake up CBS, and help us Restore Honor by being honest for once.
Apparently CBS needs a new way to estimate crowd attendance. Unbelievable. Both sides of the reflecting pool were completely lined and that alone!
Com on CBS , get real.
I was there. 87,000 praying people were standing in front of me so i couldn't see the jumbotron! Every person who attended needs to contact CBS and refuse to use their advertizers until they recant and really tell the truth. Restoring America starts with making the media get the facts straight.
We never expected the other major broadcasters to tell the truth, we learned that many years ago. No surprise here that they downplayed the numbers and distorted the purpose.
My pastor prayed the opening prayer at the rally. He spoke to the security man from the National Parks Dept. who explained the different sections and how many people they held. All the specific sections he pointed to were totally filled which indicated an estimate between 500,000 and 750,000.
Been counting crowds for 50 years....certainly over 300,000. Why is it most media won't show a pix of entire crowd at its peak. Even some areas tangent to the Mall were crowded. Those who predict less than 100K are looking through funny glasses.
