- A yellow-rumped warbler in the brush along the water's edge at Pickering Ponds, Rochester, New Hampshire

- The black and white warbler, despite its lack of colors, is a truly spectacular bird. It hops up, down and around tree trunks much like a nuthatch.
- This double-crested cormorant caught and swallowed several fish of this size as we watched. You can just see one of the horn-like features at the back of its head that give the bird its name.
- As best as I can tell, this is an American Mink that I photographed at Pickering Ponds long the river bank. It entered a hole in the river bank along the water's edge then emerged from this hole a couple seconds later about 25 feet away from the entrance.
- This Rose-breasted Grosbeak wasn't inclind to pose for a good picture, but its call was unmistakeable.
