- Barons Marketplace, based in San Diego, opened its fourth store in Wildomar, between Murrieta and Lake Elsinore, about a year ago.
- Barons sells fruits and veggies for surprisingly low prices considering the market is heavy on organic food. It relies mostly on local growers for the produce, which helps keep retail prices down. The quality is good, too.
- Barons has a fun bulk section, where shoppers can find anything from rice to carob chips to veggie chips.
- Barons claims to sell 100 wines priced at under $5 and 300 priced under $10. That's a lot of vino for the buck.
- North of San Diego, Barons has two stores; this one in Temecula, which opened in 2006, and another that opened in 2010 in Wildomar.
