- The 2010 Buick LaCrosse, right, has sharper styling than the outgoing 2009.
- The 2010 Buick LaCrosse CXL's interior is stylish but also mostly high-quality and functional.
- The 2010 Buick LaCrosse CXL's front seats are well-shaped but firmer than some Buick loyalists might prefer, and there's no excess of head space.
- The 2010 Buick LaCrosse CXL's rear seat looks spacious in photos, but although there's plenty of leg room, the low seat and lack of headroom make it less comfortable than it appears to be or than its competitors are.
- The 13.3-cubic-foot trunk is smaller than those in some compact cars.
- Like too many Fords, the LaCrosse's gauges sacrifice easy legibility for style. The digital display between the gauges may help some.
- The LaCrosse's door panel tries to do too many things at once and ends up with an inconvenient door pull under the armrest. The armrest is padded but feels hollow when pressed.
- Both the tested LaCrosse CXL and a CXS model at the same dealership had a badly misaligned panel on this part of the center console.
- LaCrosses equipped with a $2,000 navigation system -- not the tested car, but the dealership's CXS -- include a well-designed rearview camera that plots the path of the car based on the angle of the steering wheel. The system is especially convenient on the LaCrosse because of its poor visibility.
- The LaCrosse includes a strip of blue lighting around the dash and door panels and in other parts of the interior, visible only in low lighting. (Photo by Buick)
