    Additionally I don't see how "candy apples and lemonade" are exactly good alternatives here. Because they're fat free? Let's just ignore all the empty calories in them considering they're basically 100% sugar. Refined sugar. Sucrose and fructose. Enjoy your diabetes.

    bacon and chocolate? WTF? sick sick sick people. oh...fried pickles are the stuff!!! yummy with ranch dressing for dipping!

    I'm still a fan of elephant ears, maybe a plate of deep-fried veggies.

    Thing is that a sensible person will do this once, and even a non-sensible person doesn't have a very good window of availability.

    If you don't find some of these fair foods (hot dog?) appetizing, you probably shouldn't be going to fairs

    The foot-long hot dogs are healthy fare in comparison to the rest of this stuff! Still, I do find it difficult to pass up the bloomin' onion and potato strings. I tell myself that beignets (or zeppoles) are not bad because they expand my multicultural gastronomical experience.
