Wash in UV protection with Sun Guard

Washing UV protection into your clothing may sound like an extreme, but did you know that your average white cotton t-shirt alone offers UV protection of just SPF 5? No kidding, the sun’s rays aren’t backing down; we can’t afford to either.

Taking adequate precautions against harmful UV rays is easy, and more cost effective than you might imagine. The makers of Sun Guard have manufactured a product that is safely washed into your laundry, offering SPF 30 for up to 25 washes. For about $2 per load, you’ll have added protection from UV radiation for months to follow (not to mention peace of mind).

With the end of summer upon us and the start of school year ahead, Natalie Burke of Los Angeles says, “I wash Sun Guard into the kids clothing at the start of the school year, starting with the back to school clothes; I repeat the process at all the school breaks, and have just a little extra reassurance that I’ve done all I can do to protect my kids from the high UV index that we typically experience here in LA”. And she’s not alone; more and more people are catching on to the added benefit of washing Sun Protection directly into the clothing.

Whether you’re working or playing outside, the sun is there, and creating an effective barrier has been made simple. The best way to fight melanoma and other skin cancers to take preventative measures, and really, there are no excuses anymore.

Who would have thought this line of defense was available? I'd have never known if you didn't tell me about it here.
