Alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn may not be a household name yet, but the buildup to the 2010 Winter Olympics next February will likely make the telegenic Vonn a familiar face for more than just ski racing fans. NBC Sports, the U.S. network televising the Olympics, made sure to notice Vonn in the crowd at the French Open men's final on Sunday.

According to the U.S. Ski Team, the two-time defending World Cup overall champion took a break from training in Innsbruck, Austria to watch her favorite tennis player, Roger Federer, win in Paris. She was able to meet the Swiss tennis champion after the match that secured the career Grand Slam for Federer.

Vonn, now a resident of Park City, Utah, started ski racing as a child in Minnesota. She can remember her roots anytime she trains at the U.S. Ski Team's Center for Excellence in Park City, because the cardio training area at the new facility is named in honor of her first coach Erich Sailer.

When young Lindsey Kildow, her maiden name, showed exceptional promise in her teens, her family moved to Vail, Colo. Now at just 24, Vonn has more World Cup wins than any American woman and has four World Championship medals including two golds from 2009.
