It seemed like a spur-of-the-moment gesture, but when Dana Hanna pulled out his cell phone following the exchange of vows with his bride, it was all part of a surprise moment he had planned with the pastor. He was even thoughtful enough to have her cell phone ready so she could do the same.
So was the bride upset by the cell phone use? This is what the groom had to say to the Huffington Post:
My wife and I are very technology centric, and have been Facebooking and Twittering a lot to keep in touch with our very large families scattered across the USA. In fact, when we got engaged, we changed our Facebook statuses and didn't even call anyone since the word would spread on Facebook far faster than it would have over the phone calling all hundreds of our friends and family. After doing that, we received a lot of laughs, and some minor critisism from family whom were insulted that we couldn't even pick up the phone to call them.

Although I can appreciate his though process, and agree about the time frame in sharing information. The process in which Facebook and Twitter shares information is incredibly fast. I do think this is overboard. I know that it's their choice, and hey if they wanted to do it by all means more power to them. But it does come off as a little crass on a day that may be considered very sacred. They may be a little eccentric, but I think I would kick my new groom if he did that.
This speaks volumes about being media w*hores and trying to get attention. Yuck.
This is too cute! Great article!
I actually grew up with Dana, so yes, I am biased. But to be fair, it was something original that his wife didn't seem to mind at all, and he didn't expect it to snowball and turn into the media circus that it has...... I, on the other hand, would not have the balls to try to pull this!
