Money saving tip #2

Many Wichita single parents live paycheck to paycheck with very little left over to save.  This column is dedicated to helping the single parent find little ways to stash back some cash.  Watch for at least five money saving tips in this column every week.

Find checking accounts that pay you rather than you paying them.  Many banks offer free checking but shop around because some are offering even more.  Fidelity bank in Wichita is offering OptFree Checking with is not only free but pays .05 - .10 (see website for details) cents for every signature based check card transaction.

Now .05 cents may not seem like much but when you count up all the times you swipe your card at the grocery store or gas pumps it can add up.  Once the bank credits your account for this extra income transfer it to your savings and watch it grow.
