Children have a lot of fun Trick-or-Treating, and eating all of the candy that they acquire on the evening of October 31st. Single moms love to get together with other moms to take their children out on this evening. It is a wonderful opportunity for them to socialize while watching their childrens' joy. So what happens when everyone returns home, and single moms have to sort out all of that candy?
On Halloween, the streets of Bangor, Maine will be filled with children running from door-to-door for all of the wonderful treats. Single moms will each carry a sturdy bag for their children to empty their treat bags into, in order to allow them to re-fill their bags.
Later that night, single moms throughout Bangor will be sitting on their livingroom floors, at the kitchen table, or on their beds going through those mounds of candy to be sure that the treats are safe for their children to eat.
Here are some Halloween candy safety tips to keep in mind while performing this all important ritual:
- Do not let children sample candy while trick-or-treating unless you have checked it first.
- Throw out homemade goodies.
- Check naturally unwrapped foods well to be sure there is nothing stuck into them.
- Make sure wrappers are fully intact, with no tears or holes, and nothing that looks like pin holes.
- Wash fruit well before inspecting.
October is Halloween Safety Month. Be safe and have fun!
