Autumn is a great time for single moms to work on projects with their children. The weather in Bangor is getting cooler, and families are spending more time inside. Single moms are looking for ways to strengthen bonds with their children now that school is underway, and family time is a great way to accomplish this.

During the autumn months, single moms often return to cooking more from scratch. Inviting children to create wonderful foods with you will help to strengthen the bonds that you have with them. Teaching them about measurements and nutrition. Spending time laughing and talking with them. Enjoying their company.
Why not create a cookbook - or two, or three - with them this year?
- The cookbooks should be created using themes.
- They will be kept pretty much forever.
- The recipes themselves can be typed, and many copies of each can be made in order to make holiday gifts for family and friends.
Let your children help you to find recipes that you will all enjoy. Try the recipes out, and the ones that work will be added to the cookbook. You will find an example of each of following by clicking on its' link:
- Making an Apple Cookbook
- Making a Pumpkin Cookbook
- Making a Zucchini Cookbook
- So gather your children around the table, and start creating yummy foods! And remember, cooking from scratch is frugal, and will help your family out greatly during the recession.

Thanks! My daughters had fun with this one when they were younger. We used it as a homeschool project.

Thanks! I always loved doing those types of things with my daughters. Now I do them with children whom I babysit.
