Many single moms like to do craft projects with their children. Indeed, spending this time with their children can aid in strengthening family ties. Maple and oak trees (and their leaves) are plentiful in Bangor. These leaves can be used to make many crafts. The projects below are only a few examples. Let your children be free to experiment with their own ideas.
Ideas for Using Leaves in Crafting:
For those who like to paint useful items, using maple and oak leaves as templates to decorate shirts, tote bags and placemats would be a fun project.
It is fun to use smaller maple and oak trees as templates to decorate dish towels. Simply trace an outline on felt or autumn fabric and cut the leaves out. Sew the 'leaves' onto the towels.
Using construction paper, leaves, glue and markers, many projects can be created. Try making maple leaf people, oak leaf animals and construction paper leaf faces.
