Squaw Valley is hosting a jam-packed holiday week. Here is the schedule of events:

December 24: Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade
A long-held tradition, this is always a popular event, as Squaw Valley Ski School instructors light up the lower mountain with bright torches. The parade begins at dusk, around 6 pm.

December 24 - 25 : Santa Visits
From 12-4 pm on December 24 Santa will be near the Giant Holiday Tree and Big Chair in the Village and will be available for photos before his big night. Don’t wear him out. Provided he has any get-up-and-go after being up all night he’ll be skiing around the mountain with one of his trusty elves on December 25.

December 24 – Jan 2: Holiday Caroling
Sierra Nevada carolers will be creating music throughout the village from 4-6 pm. On December 24 and 25 Sierra Nevada Chorale performances will be held from 3-5 pm.

December 26: Squaw Stocking Scavenger Hunt
After all the presents are opened at home, there will still be some surprises to be found. One hundred red stockings will be hidden around the mountain stocked with prizes.

December 26 – January 2: Ski with Jonny Moseley
Ski with the personable and friendly Jonny Moseley, Squaw Valley’s Chief Mountain Host and Olympic Gold Medalist from the 1998 Nagano Olympics in moguls. Tours meet at the top of the Funitel at 1 pm. There is no charge and no reservations are required. Just show up and try to keep up. He’ll start off on easy terrain and then, well, there’s just no telling. See related article when Jonny skied with the Women of Winter on Wednesday's (WOW) group.

December 29 – 30: Full Moon Snowshoe Tours
The full moon will light up the mountain as snowshoers trek to the upper mountain to take in spectacular vistas. The weather report shows that it should be clear on these days so take advantage of the conditions. Check the Squaw Valley website for prices and dinner package options.
