Online sites that help you save

Every little bit helps.

Times are more than tough and "bargain" is the word people want to hear. It's my personal favorite right next to "free".  I stumbled upon some great sites which will help you save some much needed pennies.

  • Supporting new designers is always a good idea and  Esty.com is the best place to find handmade apparel, art, jewelry and more. These one of a kind items make great gifts too. You can narrow your search by item, get help finding a gift, and check out local sellers.
  •  It seems stores are having more sales this year and  Stylenotes.com is the place to find out where, how much, and when. You can also sign up for their e-mail which will let you know when your favorite store is having a  sale.
  • Check for coupons. Head to  Retailmenot.com which offers on-line coupon codes for more than 20,000 stores. Or view  Styleforfree.com, this site also offers printable coupons.
  • Get money back just for shopping. Before you make a purchase check out  EBates.com if the store you want to buy from is in their network do the transaction through the site. They will deposit a percentage of the sale in to an account. And if you join their site now (it's free) you'll get a $10 gift card to either Target, Sephora, or iTunes.
  • Got a gift card you wish was from another store? Swap it (for a minimal fee) on  GiftCardRescue.com for one you will use.
  • Don't rule out gently used items. Ebay.com is still one of the best sites to find used goods. You may also find some that are new with the price tags still attached.
  • Research and compare shop. Dealio.com allows you to search a specific item and find the best price. Another favorite is Like.com, which helps you find exactly what your looking for at all prices. You can refine your search to the detail.
  • Do it yourself. Have some time to spare? Click on "Spa at home" on SpaIndex.com and you'll get an array of at home beauty recipes.

Hope these site are as helpful to you as they were for my wallet.

I'd recommend Sortprice too. They have some fun features, and a new Facebook application that lets you build a gift list right on your profile page:

    Andrea,

Great article, it's such a good feeling when you get a great deal on something you're looking for. I frequent sites like fatwallet and slickdeals. They are great for finding deals but can be cumbersome to find what you want.

I work for a shopping site called wishabi.com which helps in sifting through the deals by getting the shopping community to post deals for the things you want and then delivering these deals to the people who want them. There is also an opportunity for good deal-hunters to make money on the deals they post whenever someone purchases from them.
