The Women’s Foundation of California will honor groundbreaking leaders in entertainment, business and public service at its 30th Anniversary Luncheon on Friday, November 13 at the Fairmont Hotel San Francisco.

Honorary Chair First Lady of San Francisco Jennifer Siebel Newsom, San Francisco District Attorney Kamala D. Harris and 500 of the Bay Area’s most influential women and men will gather to celebrate the Foundation and to honor Actor and Founder of See Jane Geena Davis.

California State Senator Mark Leno, Activist and San Francisco native Elmy Bermejo and philanthropic partners Levi Strauss & Co. and Levi Strauss Foundation will also be honored.

“I am proud to join my wife, the First Lady of San Francisco and Honorary Chair Jennifer Siebel Newsom, in celebrating 30 years of leadership in California from some of our country’s most accomplished women who continue to improve our City and our State with their dedication toward making a difference,” said Gavin Newsom, Mayor of San Francisco.

Geena Davis is one of Hollywood’s most respected actors. Like the strong characters she portrays on film and television, Davis is a powerful champion for women’s and girls’ rights and an advocate for real lasting change.

“I am grateful to work alongside all of the women who are making great strides to improve the lives of other women and our children. Through these efforts, our daughters will fulfill their destinies and take up the space that is rightfully theirs in the world,” said Geena Davis.

Lateefah Simon, one of Oprah’s Top 20 Power Women of 2009 and Executive Director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies.

The Women’s Foundation of California was established in San Francisco in 1979. It became a statewide foundation in 2003 when it merged with the Los Angeles Women’s Foundation. Thirty years later the Foundation is a leader among the 135 women’s funds worldwide that trace their roots to the Foundation’s model.

Friday, November 13 from 11:30 AM to 2 PM at the Fairmont Hotel San Francisco. Tickets for the event are on sale womensfoundca.org
