Adam Lambert is explaining why he flashed his middle finger to the audience during the American Music Award show.
He told MTV News: "You know, the finger was to the people that have been criticizing me. The finger was to the people who doubt me. The finger was to the people that were about to censor me. The finger was not to fans or people who support me at all, by any means.
"The finger was to 'Out' magazine's editor who wailed into me, people like that," he continued. "It wasn't premeditated; it just kind of happened. In the end ... it was to prove freedom of expression and to prove I am in control of my situation. I am an artist and I'm here to express myself. My intention wasn't to upset people."
The editor gay magazine, "Out," was critical of Lambert's management team because, he said, they were putting him back in the closet. In response, Lambert told the editor in a Tweet to "chill" and suggested that he was trying to get publicity for his magazine.
Lambert also explained the same-sex kiss during his AMA performance. He told MTV that during rehearsal he had only pulled the performer's hair but surprised him with a kiss.
He told MTV, "He's straight, but not married. He's single. I guess he didn't mind getting kissed in the name of entertainment."

interesting the guy he kissed is straight, still it looks from the photo like neither of them were complaining :-)
When this country has run its self down to the black hole, bottomless pit, and when respect for yourself ,along with diginity for your self is completely gone, then perhaps, the next generation will demand respect and dignity for themselves and each other. You will see a change, because when you get to the bottom of that black hole, which some think is bottomless, you will decide to bring yourself back up. It may be done as a country, or as one persone at a time. Good luck America I hope you succeed.
I think that that kiss was so sexy and I would love to c it again.
That was so gay and disgusting but my girlfried thinks that it's hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She gets wet
really nothing that hasn't been done before for years. this is mild compared to some of the performances by females that have been done.
I have seen acts on music award shows for years that equally as raunchy. This wouldn't be a big deal if it were a woman and not a gay man. He has a great voice and will be around for a long time.
Adam rocks! This is not a big deal. He is an artist who was performing. If you don't like it change the channel. That's what I do when something comes on that I don't like.
Let's just move on from all this drama and enjoy the amazing voice of this young man.
good 4 adam that editor deserved what adam gave him!
