TMZ.com is reporting that the Florida Highway Patrol is seeking to obtain a search warrant to seize Tiger Woods' medical records to determine whether his facial injuries were caused by his car accident or by his wife, Elin Nordegren.
TMZ had earlier reported that Woods sustained his injuries after being attacked by Nordegren after she confronted him over tabloid reports that he was having an affair with New York events planner Rachel Uchitel. Uchitel has strongly denied those reports.
TMZ is pointing out inconsistencies in Nordegren's stories to the Florida Highway Patrol and to Windemere Police. She told the highway patrol that she went out to look for Woods in a golf cart and that's when she came upon the accident. But she never mentioned the golf cart to the Windemere Police. She said she discovered the accident and ran in her house to get a golf club to break a window on her husband's car to free him from the wreck. But she told the highway patrol she grabbed a club from the golf cart. TMZ noted that in their 21 photos of the crash scene there was no sign of any golf cart.
