Armani Prive's spring 2009 couture collection has a severe Asian persuasion...

The models walked down the runway looking like Pagodas on the master cleanse diet donned in restrained seperates that, for couture pieces, looked very wearable. The jet black, straight cut bangs matched well with the subdued palette of black and the occasional dulled pop of florals. The silhouettes were sexy and severe via the beautifully constricted pant and skirt suits that reminded me of Lady Deathstrike in X-Men 2.
As an Asian American, I should find the whole "Dragon Lady" term derogatory, but this collection is anything but. It's exotic, but not a caricature. It's alluring, but not fetishized. And most of all, it doesn't have that submissive anime giggle vibe. It's strong, powerful and most of all, it's fabulous! (please enter the appropriate number of snaps it deserves here)

"Dragon Lady" derogatory? Get over yourself. Not everything is a race issue. And the collection is so done. There is nothing new under the sun.
Hey Christopher! Thanks for the loving comment! You're like a big ray of sunshine!
