The Cookie Diet: Too good to be true?

Coooookies? Eat cookies and lose weight? Who wouldn't?

After endless diets over the years, and trials and fails, I was fed up with crappy food plans, carb restrictions, liquid fasts, and much more.

With a recent cookie diet, known as the "Smart For Life" diet, it promises weight loss of 15-20 pounds in 42 days or less. YES!

Created by Dr. Sass, the cookie diet was formulated to help the obese and overweight lose weight in a safe, and easy manner--all by eating 6 cookies throughout the day, and a high protein, low fat meal for dinner. With great success and press coverage in recent times, the cookie diet, also known best as the "Smart For Life" diet, has taken cookie-eating hungry dieters by storm. The program promises substantial weight loss, all by eating (eh, healthy) cookies throughout the day, with your own protein meal at night.

Yes, I admit, I was fooled by this unbelievable sounding diet, since I am one that can spend a crazy night with my box of Oreos. However, I was disappointed to receive the shipment of 42-day cookies (available at SmartForLife.com), only to taste the cardboard "chocolate chip" of a cookie, which I quickly resorted to spitting out.

So my advice, diet-hungry followers, is to go by the wise ways of losing weight, which isn't eating card-board tasting cookies. You'll save yourself a lot of money ($199), and not to mention, avoid a lot of gagging!

The original cookie-based diet is Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet (www.CookieDiet.com). It was created in the 1970s by Dr. Sanford Siegal of Miami. Dr. Siegal used to license his name and sell his cookies to Smart for Life Weight Management Centers but that ended some time ago. Recently, Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet was the People Magazine cover story and was on Entertainment Tonight.

I guess I never added up all othe extra calories I was taking in between meals.. those little snack attacks never seemend to "count" in my mind.. but, of course, they did. I had packed on 30 something pounds. At first I tried to just do the "willpower" thing, but it was so hard! I decided to try the Smart for Life cookie diet because I have some friends that had tried it and got REAL results and the cost was very affordable. I lost 34 pounds in 3 months. It's been more than a year and I am still keeping it! I cannot stop thanking and talking to people about Smart for Life because that is the least I can do in exchange for so much support, knowledge and great service. I encourage you not only to try it but to visit one of their centers. They have the advantage that you can try any of the 7 cookie flavors and other products before buying.

I cannot give an opinon on Dr. Siegals cookie diet because I had never tryied it. The cookie diet I joined was Smart for Life. Everything the company promised I got. I followed the program by the book and I got the weight off. Honey, you did not pack extra weight overnight so I guess I takes a little effort to get rid of it, right? So if it's not the fastest and safest method I guess it will be the gym 5 days a week and carying tupperware with your diet food around. I ate my cookie anyware at anytime. In the Smart for Life center that I visited they suggested me to put my cookie in the microwave for 10 sec. and VOILA, oven fresh cookies, my favorate was the Garden Pizza cookie with a melted slice of fat free cheese on top, yumm. Smart for Life YOU ROCK!!!!

Smart For Life cookies work! I lost 99 pounds in 6 1/2 months and went from a size 22 to a size 2. I have maintained the weight loss for over 7 months now. The cookies are healthy and good for you. Natural and organic with no preservatives makes a healthy meal replacement, six times a day and then you have dinner. If people say it doesn't work it's because they didn't follow the diet. Smart For Life changed my life and can change yours too. You maintain the weight loss by eating regular food and exercising. Stop listening to people that don't want you to be thin. I never looked back and the food no longer controls my life - I control the food. All cookies are not the same. I was never hungry and have been on every diet under the sun and have taken every pill out there. Not only did I lose fast and healthy but I have been able to keep the weight off for good!! As for Dr Siegel's cookies, I saw at Forbes.com that his cookies have microcrystalline cellulose in them, that's a filler thats only digestable by termites!!

I'll agree that the cookies are not the best tasting. Chocolate Chip = cardboard as Masha says. Oatmeal Raisin = Dirt and Blueberry = Dusty Mud. Nevertheless, the cookies do fill you up and help your cravings. My hunger cravings are so intense. I LOVE food and lots of it. When I am hungry I've got to eat. No good meal is complete until after you have something that is sweet and decadent for dessert. Yet with the cookies and more frequent eating, I do not have the same cravings. If I am hungry, I look at the time and realize it is time for another "cookie" and then I wash it down with a full bottle of water. For me, I would rather weigh less and eat crappy tasting cookies than weigh more and eat whatever I want.

A video about this from Entertainment Tonight popped up on YouTube the other day. If you search for "cookie diet celebrity canada" on YouTube you'll see it there. The video is called Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet Top Celebrity Diet in Canada.
