The San Francisco Police Department released images and information Friday in an effort to identify two suspects in a Jan. 31, 2010 attack that authorities are describing as a hate-crime assault on a transgender female and a male friend.

A press release by the SFPD reports that on Jan. 31, 2010, and about 2 a.m., a transgender female and her male companion went to eat at a restaurant on the 3000 block of 16th Street in San Francisco.
Two suspects started to harass the transgender female and one of the suspects took a swing at her. The male friend of the victim then defended her and the fight was broken up by the restaurant owner.
When the victims stepped outside the restaurant at about 2:35 a.m. and tried to hail a taxi cab, the suspects from the earlier fight ran up behind the victims and yelled "remember me now?!" and then started beating them both with a chrome pipe, causing both victims to lose consciousness. The suspects fled on foot westbound on 16th Street to Northbound on Guerrero Street.
Both victims were transported to the ER.
The SFPD is asking for the public's assistance in the investigation by identifying the suspects in the photos and contacting the police.
The first suspect is described by investigators as a Latino male, 5'6" tall at 150 lbs., black hair, tar marks on his lower teeth. He was last seen wearing a black button-up dress shirt and black pants.
The second suspect is also described by investigators as a Latino male, 5'6" tall at 150 lbs., black hair, last seen wearing a black coat, dress shirt, dark pants, black glasses with thick frames.

Not all surprising.
This is the SAME area in which I was told us things were'nt welcome and to get the F out the Mission.
I was walking to my residence after an appoinment that day in the MISSION. I minded my own business like I always do and I drew hatred like I always do.
And Also GAYs and LEsbians DESPISE trans women!
These perps were obviously Homosexuals. DUH!
Thought the incident where I was told to leave was by a thug kid of about 20 ish.
I'm FTM. And I know lots of gays. And lesbians. And transwomen and men. And I have not found that gay men and women hate transwomen, at all. I'm sorry that has been your experience, but it's just not a worldwide rule. Whoever the attackers were, what they did was wrong, absolutely horrendous, and the kind of thing that makes you want to stay in your house with the doors locked. But it has nothing to do with a generalization over whether they were straight or gay.
I dont think Trans men are hated by gays but they DO hate Transwomen.
Thats not a generalization its a fact.

Its cool though cause they have to form gay bars etc.
We can go anyhere once transitioned. Its why we are called TRANS.
You cant others but you stick too your own kind and watch for you self and your people
Though they may smile to your face they will out you talk trash and in extreme cases assault you like in this incident.

I am also trans and work with trans men, trans women, gays and lesbians. None I know hate trans women. That is an unfair generalization. Haters come in all forms, even gay. It is still wrong whoever they are.
There are certain things that only a Woman with a Trans medical herstory will experience.
Before my transition at age 21 I thought the same way but after seeing and being told and experiencing I see the light er well darkness of reality.
The culture is unfair and divided. Remember the ENDA deal?!
I just hope the SFPD can realize the culture of politics and diviseness so that they are led to the CORRECT suspects.
And these homos pay for going too far and assaulting a WOMAN...
