The designer: Christopher Collins earned a degree in fashion design and put his stylish eye to work as a visual merchandiser at Neiman Marcus. From there he worked with two distinguished designers in the industry: Tadashi and Dina Bar-el.
The inspiration: Elizabethan texture mixed with mid-century luxury. Color palette and print: Neutral hues eventually opened up to lush greens and blossoming floral prints. The positives: An air of sophistication blew through the 15 piece collection. Ruffled collars, knit cardigans and chiffons illustrated powerful femininity. The negatives: Although beautiful, the collection is fashion centered, not fashion forward. Suitable for the modern woman, not the front row fashion show fashionista.Overall critique: Perfect for the modest modern woman who knows what looks good on her, not ideal for the ambitious style maven.
