Former Miss Argentina Solange Magnano died on Monday due to complications after undergoing a gluteoplasty also known as a butt lift. The 38 year old wife and mother of eight year twins suffered a pulmonary embolism the day after having liquid injected into her buttocks in order to firm up her behind. According to sources close to the brunette beauty the liquid had traveled to her brains and her lungs. 
This is a sad wake up call for those of you out there who are looking to perfect your appearance. Here was a woman who was already beautiful and curvacious who died in the pursuit of the unattainable, perfection.
Plastic surgery is nothing new and gluteoplasty is the new "it" surgery due to the J-Lo factor. The popularity of artist such as Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez have woman lining up at the nearest plastic surgeons office to have either fat or implants injected into their buttocks to make them rounder and firmer.
But as with all surgeries there are complications and though death is rare the deaths of Ms. Magnano and rapper Kanye West's mother Donda West show us that it is a possibility. Before undergoing any cosmetic surgery please be sure that you have explored all other options such as diet and exercise and educate yourself on the complications and possible side effects should you decide to undergo the knife.

Mimi, like you said, people really need to learn to educate themselves before surgery. We don't know all the details on Miss Argentina yet but we do know that Donda West decided to shop for a surgeon after she was told she wasn't a candidate at the time. I personally really like Trusted Surgeon Network website (you can google it) because they have researched all plastic surgeons already to see if they have the training and any malpractice judgments against them. (Donda West's surgeon isn't one of the trusted surgeons).
